GRID Autosport: Video review

Some developers learn from their mistakes better than Ubisoft and sometimes make all concessions in pursuit of the perfect game. We’ll talk about this today using the example of GRID Autosport.

A minute Grammar Nazi: there are no reviews on games. There are game reviews.

The situation is probably like bwin-casino.co.uk with the word “coffee”: despite the fact that coffee is actually “it”, but due to widespread illiteracy and many mistakes being made, the rule has been officially adopted that “it” is also allowed. Although this is never true.

Same here: “game review” is correct, not “game review”. But at the same time, the latter option is found incredibly often, even in the official Steam localization. Therefore, it seems that due to the fact that “everyone does this”, there is a feeling that it is possible to say this. But in reality you can’t. Wow.

I didn’t expect any other verdict from Maxim Kulakov. One question:
“The view from the cockpit is back, by the way, but I’m not playing with it(”.
This is because the view from the cockpit is a blurred **** spot instead of the cockpit or you are just used to playing in 3rd person view?

I spent the whole video waiting for this notification to appear in the corner: “Your friend Kostya.T. plays Dota2". This would be a break in patterns!:)

I’ll probably take a risk and write everything I think about the game after playing it for 5 hours.
The car’s behavior model was completely transferred from the 2nd part and this is one of the main disadvantages of the game. Despite all the efforts of Codemasters to present the game as a serious simulator, they ended up with an arcade game in the cover of a simulator. The cars drive as if on rails, there are no settings for the dead zone of the gas, braking, axles, nothing of that kind. I set the gas and brake to the gamepad sticks, but with the slightest pressure the auto displays 100%. Yes, even in the last GTA you could play with gas. The formal view from the cabin can still be tolerable, but it looks terrible. The painfully advertised drift mode, about which the developers sang that they had done something extraordinary, turned out to be a transferred mode from the first part – now you just need to drift on certain sections of the track. And you know, I tried in every possible way to tie myself to this game, but even at a high level of difficulty, with a manual box, it’s not interesting to play, the cars behave the same, no matter how funny it sounds, but in the latest NFS the cars behaved more believably and more varied… That’s why I don’t even mention GT, Forza and Shift – this game hasn’t even come a centimeter closer to them since the first part of Grid. Codemasters have buried all hopes… I recommend to everyone who was expecting a simulator from the game to refrain from purchasing, and even from downloading from torrents. Well, who wants a challenge, shows and a beer ride with friends – maybe it will suit you and I don’t blame you or the developers. We’re just different.
